14 Great Holdings
The Statement of the first hexagram
Great hold_ings:
supreme
every_where.
The changing lines
The second line:
A big wagon, loaded, with a place to go.
No fault.
The third line:
The duke makes an offering
to the Son of Heaven.
The small are unable to do this.
The fifth line:
His sincerity in meeting
leads to majesty and fortune.
25 Innocence
The Statement of the second hexagram
Innocence: from the first, all must be
pervasive, gainful, and pure.
Those without such truth suffer calamity
and do not gain no matter where they go.
The Image of the first hexagram
Fire in heaven:
great holdings.
The noble one
curbs evil and fosters good,
and is favored
with heaven's blessings
and commands.
The Image of the second hexagram
Thunder moves
under heaven: all the world
is innocent. The ancient
kings paid close attention
to the time
in nourishing
the myriad things.
